introduction -- Why plan? -- Learning aims and objectives -- Starting the lesson -- Using resources and activities -- adaptive learning -- Checking learning -- Challenging thinking -- Embedding the 'added extras' -- Concluding the lesson -- Evaluating the lesson -- Individualizing learning.
In this chapter we have considered the importance of concluding lessons in a way which motivates both teachers and learners to reflect on what learning has taken place. Concluding the lesson need not to be poor relation to other aspects of planning; it should not be a rushed, often absent, part of our planning. It is, in fact, a summary, and evaluation and a bridge and should be treated with the respect it deserves.
