Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BPED) - Physical Education. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2026 Abstract: This study investigates the practices in the implementation of training programs at the Camarines Sur Sports Academy (CSSA) with the goal of developing a compendium of best practices and training programs. Specifically, it examined the academy’s profile, identified existing practices in training program implementation, determined challenges and limitations, and developed an output based on the findings. Previous studies have emphasized the importance of structured training and institutional support in athlete development, yet limited attention has been given to how sports academies implement training programs and establish best practices. This research addresses that gap by documenting the experiences of athletes and coaches within CSSA. Employing a descriptive research design, data were collected through focus group discussions, interviews, and document analysis. Results showed that CSSA has a strong foundation of student-athletes supported by experienced faculty and specialized coaches, with consistent achievements confirming program effectiveness. Training programs were found to be systematic and adaptive, combining discipline with motivational strategies to foster holistic growth. However, challenges such as limited facilities, improvised equipment, and the difficulty of balancing academics with sports were identified as significant constraints. The study culminated in the development of a compendium of best practices and training programs, consolidating structured training designs, individualized approaches, motivational strategies, and holistic development into a unified framework. This output serves as both a practical guide and a strategic tool to strengthen and enhance CSSA’s ongoing programs and future initiatives, ensuring sustainability and alignment with broader standards in sports education.
