Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis (BSME) - Mechanical Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2024. Abstract: The study presents SPARK-ME, an academic e-learning platform aimed to increase access to and usability of selected chapters of the Philippine Mechanical Engineering (PME) Code for the students and faculty of the College of Engineering and Architecture at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC). The researchers went on to create a web based tool to better understand the challenges of obtaining updated referencing materials, and it works in a user-directed design with multimedia learning resources and interactive assessments. The e-learning platform is based on the principles of Constructivist Learning Theory, Cognitive Load Theory, and the Technology Acceptance Model to create opportunities for students to construct their knowledge and independent learning in a flexible and engaging manner. The SPARK-ME study utilized the Agile Methodology, which aligned with iterative development and collection of user feedback throughout the development stage to enhance user experience and development. The SPARK-ME website will focus on five critical PME Code chapters and will report content using searchable databases, visual representations, quizzes, and a responsive web design. Researchers solicited evaluations through surveys and user testing of the complete platform and confirmed that it had made worthwhile improvements in access to content, understanding, and user satisfaction. This project not only fills a void and enhances academic resources but also contributes to the digital transformation of engineering education in the Philippines.
