Undergraduate Theses (BPED) - Physical Education. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2025
Includes bibliographic references.
The qualities and level of preparedness of third-year Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) students at a state college in Camarines Sur were assessed by this study, off-campus teaching during the academic year 2024-2025. Recognizing the gap between theoretical learning and practical teaching, the study aimed to evaluate pre-service teachers in terms of four key areas: (a)Teacher's Personality, (b) Lesson Planning, (c) Teaching Methods and (d) Classroom Management. Guided by Constructivist and Experiential Learning Theories, a descriptive research method was used. Total enumeration was utilized, and data was collected using a validated questionnaire. Descriptive Statistics were utilized in data analysis. The findings showed that the respondents consistently rated themselves as "Very Good" on all indicators. Strengths were noted in appearance, use of varied instructional strategies, and reinforcement of positive behavior. However, areas needing improvement included demonstrating enthusiasm, addressing disruptive behavior, and designing highly interactive lessons. A significant relationship was found between the respondents' qualities and their level of preparedness, indicating the teacher qualities directly influence readiness for field practice. Based on the results, the study proposed a specialized intervention module titled Galing at Gahum: Preparing Pre-Service PE Teachers for the Field. The module is composed of four core parts aligned with the study variables: Teacher's Personality, focusing on professionalism, enthusiasm, and confidence; Lesson Planning covering structured, objective-aligned lesson designs; Teaching Methods promoting variety, technology use, and student engagement, and Classroom Management addressing rule-setting, behavior handling, and inclusive learning environment.
