This research study aimed to determine the career challenges of BSOA graduating student during covid pandemic at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. Specially, it aims to elucidate the following: the socio-demographic profile of the respondent in terms of Age, Gender, Status, their career challenges and their coping mechanisms. As an output to this study, there are recommendations that was proposed which focuses on enhancing the employability skills of BSOA graduating student as well as enhancing their coping mechanism during challenges brought by covid pandemic.
The research used descriptive research method in gathering the data while statistical tools were used in analyzing the gathered data. It utilize the percentage technique for the profiles and weighted mean for the for the challenges encountered. The result showed that most of the challenges experienced by the BSOA graduating student are due to lack of practical training and internships, along with academic pressures. These challenges also include future professional career concerns such as job competition and cessation in hiring. The study also concluded that BSOA graduating students deal with these challenges using coping mechanism that are both and State-oriented. Recommendations were proposed by the researchers to enhance the employability skills and coping mechanism of the respondents and the target audiences such as the conduct of more trainings/ and seminar which focuses on enhancing the employability skills of BSOA graduating students; consistently providing practical training/ internships amid pandemic as a requirments to colleges degree completion since industrial experience is needed in future job applications; establishing programs that will support the psychological welfare of the students; conducting pre-service enhancement program to evelate students; civil service examinations ratings.
