The study aimed to develop an instructional material in teaching badminton to Bachelor of Physical Education students at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, focusing on year level, frequency of play, level of expertise and level of understanding in badminton along basic skills, techniques, rules and regulations. Utilizing a quantitative method, data were collected from sixty-eight (68) 2nd year and thirty-five (35) 1st year students at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. Statistical tools including frequency count, percentage and ranking methods. Findings revealed that most of the respondents played once a week with 59.2% (61), and the lowest rank is three times a week with 2.9% (3). In level of expertise beginner rank the highest with 73.8% (76), while the lowest ranked is the advanced with 1.9% (2). The most benefited and highest rank in level of understanding in badminton was the rules and regulations with an average mean of 3.14, to be followed by techniques with an average mean 2.87 and the lowest average mean in level of understanding in badminton is the basic skills with an average mean of 2.69. To address these findings the researchers recommended the student must focus on techniques, rules and regulations but also in the terms of basic skills mostly the backhand smash, because it is difficult to execute. The researchers implement an instructional material among Bachelor of Physical Education students that focuses on how to develop their physical skills in term of badminton sports. This material will seek to create a vibrant sporty culture that benefits social and emotional health of the entire program.
