520 3 _aMannequin-based simulation offers a safe environment where students can practice and develop their knowledge, skills, and attitude and it has been increasingly utilized in healthcare education, yet there is limited research on the utilization of it in the field of midwifery in state colleges in the Philippines. This study aimed to determine the impact of mannequin-based simulation on learning outcomes and satisfaction among midwifery students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. A descriptive-correlational study was conducted involving 140 midwifery students in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges from Level 2-4. Data were gathered using a structured 4-point Likert Scale questionnaire measuring the impact of mannequin-based simulation on the learning outcomes of midwifery students along with knowledge, skills, and attitude and the level of student satisfaction and the factors that affects its utilization. Data were analyzed using percentage technique, weighted mean, and chi-square test was used to analyze the relationships among variables. The results revealed that the respondents are 19 -20 years old, majority are female, in their 2nd year of college, are exposed to mannequin-based simulation for 1-2 times per semester and has a clinical practicum grade of 91-95% and reports positive impact on learning outcomes and satisfaction with mannequin-based simulation. Factors influencing its utilization were identified, though no significant relationship was found between respondents' age or year level and learning outcomes. However, clinical practicum grades showed a significant relationship with knowledge; there is a significant relationship between respondent's profile together with sex assigned at birth, frequency of exposure to mannequin-based simulation, and the impact of mannequin-based simulation on learning outcomes. The results indicated that mannequin-based simulation as a teaching and learning method impacts the learning outcomes and satisfaction of midwifery students positively. The study underscores the importance of mannequin-based simulation in midwifery education and suggests further research to evaluate its long-term effects across varied institutions.
