520 3 _aThis research examined the perceived mental health readiness of first-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), focusing on their experiences, stressors, management approaches, and support systems. Conducted from August 2023 to May 2024 using a quantitative, cross-sectional design, the study involved first-year BSN students who completed a validated questionnaire assessing various dimensions of mental health readiness, including interpersonal, cognitive, and behavioral aspects. The majority of respondents were female, aged 19-21, with a family monthly income below ₱20,000, and predominantly Roman Catholic. Findings revealed that students felt most prepared in interpersonal skills, cognitive abilities, and behavioral attributes, with significant influences from physical, psychosocial, spiritual, financial, and environmental factors. Supportive relationships with family and peers, a sense of purpose from spiritual beliefs, financial stability, and a conducive learning environment positively contributed to mental health readiness. A notable relationship between age and family monthly income highlighted the importance of socio-economic factors. Recommendations for enhancing mental health readiness included fostering diverse interactions, promoting mental health self-awareness, enhancing discipline, providing support systems, ensuring student-friendly facilities, and conducting further research. By combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies, this study offered a comprehensive understanding of mental health readiness among first-year BSN students at CSPC, providing valuable insights for educational institutions to improve support systems and practices, ultimately fostering resilience and professional competence in nursing careers.
