520 3 _aThis study aimed to explore the health-seeking behaviors of students at Catanduanes State University (CatSU) towards the utilization of medical and dental services. Understanding these behaviors is essential for identifying barriers and facilitators influencing healthcare access, with the ultimate goal of improving service utilization and promoting well-being among the student population. The study employed a descriptive research design, utilizing a survey questionnaire to collect data from 366 first-year students selected through simple random sampling. The questionnaire focused on profiling respondents, assessing health-seeking behaviors, and identifying factors influencing these behaviors, including intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. Statistical tools, such as descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and multiple regression analysis, were used to analyze the data. The results revealed that the majority of respondents were aged 17-19 years, lived with their families, and with family monthly income of Php 9,520 and below. Students rarely utilized medical and dental services, with minimal engagement in preventive care and mental health services. Intrinsic factors, such as health beliefs and knowledge, and extrinsic factors, such as financial and logistical barriers, significantly influenced health-seeking behaviors. A notable relationship was found between students' profiles, the factors affecting their behaviors, and their healthcare utilization. The findings suggest that low awareness, financial limitations, and accessibility challenges hinder service utilization. Addressing these barriers through targeted health education, improved accessibility, and inclusive support systems could enhance health-seeking behaviors among students. A comprehensive intervention plan was proposed to promote proactive healthcare utilization, improve well-being, and support academic success.
