520 3 _aThe Bicol Region has experienced a major development with the return of railway service following a six-year temporary suspension. Fortunately, this results in an increase in the number of train trips in order to sustain the continuous rise in the number of commuters. However, the safety of its commuters has been jeopardized by the use of inadequate railway stations that were already ruined, outdated, and did not meet the current standards and guidelines. In order to address the deficiency of urban mobility infrastructure and provide commuters and tourists with a safe, effective, and convenient transportation system service, this study aims to create a typical design for the railway station along PNR Bicol South Lane, which currently has twenty-six stations and flagstops. This research was carried out by conducting a data gathering through an ocular site inspection, interview, engineering survey, and railway passenger survey to develop a design and cost estimation. This is accomplished by first determining the present condition of the Bicol Railway Stations in terms of their dimensions, platform elevation, existing facilities, and average number of commuters. With the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software, researchers were able to propose a new typical design for the railway station in terms of architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical design that satisfies commuter needs while adhering to current building codes and provisions. The government-owned land through the PNR's "right of way" including the three (3) 30-meter-wide strips of land was properly utilized to allocate all the necessary facilities such as accessible parking area for bicycles and other vehicles, an ATM/E-Loading Kiosk, a complete body scanner, a clinic, an administrative building, a utility area, electrical room, and storage room were also designated. To provide commuters with more effective service, a public space was also set aside, including a concession area, a waiting area with plenty of chairs, a medical room with a lactation room, a comfort room accessible to people with disabilities, a charging station, and food stalls. These conclude that the proposed design meets the contemporary demands of commuters in terms of efficiency, reliability, convenience, and safe service the service pledge of the PNR Management.
