Having a childcare facility ease the needs to properly guide children in the area of their choice and interest. A haven where children are engaged in formative learning activities provided by a childcare professional. This study aims to design a green childcare facility that provides conducive learning environment for children starting their first step into educational journey and that would not only cater to learning but also promotes and uses alternative green technology. The researchers aimed to propose in building a childcare facility giving emphasis on the maximization of the space allocated for the old childcare facility as well as the application of green technology such as: solar panel and rainwater harvester installation. The researchers conducted interviews that determined the present condition of the old childcare facility. The procedures in formulating the design for the green childcare facility underwent developmental strategy and were based on the standards in accordance to the National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP), National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) and on Administrative Order No. 29 Series of 2004's guidelines or the regulations for daycare, various ECCD facilities, and firms. The Philippine Green Building Code (PHILGBC) will specify the green building characteristics that must he included in the design. The overall proposed structure will cost Php 2,900,590.45 in total. This study will serve as reference for future researchers and gradually, the created design will be a blueprint guiding the construction of the project into succession. | |
