This study was conducted to determine the learning behavior of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Buhi Campus for the school year 2020-2021. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions: What is the profile of the respondents in terms of Age, Sex and Monthly Income? The profile of the respondents along Age, Sex, Family Income in the previous semester. Age, out of 20 total number of the respondents, from third year students in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Buhi Campus 3 or 15% belongs to the age bracket of 18-19, 10 or 50% belongs to the age bracket of 20-21, five 5 or 30% percent belong to the age bracket of 22-23 and 1 or 5% belong to the age of ab. Sex, out of 20 total number of respondents, 15 or 75% belong to female. 5 or 25% percent are male over 25 years old, Family Income, out of 20 total number of the respondents, 7 or 35% percent belong to the family income bracket of below 5,000, 9 or 45% belongs to the family income bracket of 5,001-10,000 and 2 or 10% percent belong to the family income bracket of 10,001-15,000 pesos. What are the learning behaviors of the students in terms of: Physical, Affective, Cognitive and Physiological? The learning behavior of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Physical, data revealed that herein respondents, according to the physical study, had an average weighted mean of 2.84. Therefore, BSIT students of CSPC Buhi Campus experienced the effect of their learning behavior in terms of the sound, noise, light, temperature, design/settings and time of the day, through learning the students are able to motivated and sharpen their idea by thinking critically and creatively.
It will also enhance their participation by involving in all the activities in the room. Affective, data revealed that herein respondents, according to affective the study had an Average Weighted Mean of 3.15. Therefore, the students of BSIT performed better when they are motivated and they feel good when they make their parent/guardian proud when they do well in school. They are more interested in learning, and they are working on ways to excel in school as a result, they have better outcomes regarding their learning behavior. Cognitive, according to the cognitive the study had an average weighted mean of 3.27. Therefore, BSIT students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Buhi, Campus like to learn while using various machines like computers that can make them easily to find answers and can make the work easier. They find it easy to learn things through perceptual modes, by engaging themselves on using machine that will give them more information, solution, and convenience. Physiological, data revealed that herein respondents, according to physiological the study had an average weighted mean of 3.09. Therefore, BSIT students of BSPC Buhi Campus like to eat or drink when they feel nervous or upset. This behavior really affects their learning, they can't easily perform or learn when they are nervous or upset. From a physiological standpoint, nervousness and being upset cause's adrenal glands to release hormone called cortisol. When this happens, we will notice an increase in appetite and desire to eat sugary, salty, or fatty foods. It can negatively impact learning and memory.
The following were the conclusion: 1. a. Majority of the respondents are at the age bracket of 20-21 years old. b. Majority of the respondents are female, c. Majority of the respondents are at the family income below 5,000. 2. In terms of physical element, the sound, noise, light, temperature, design/setting and time of the day has an effect on learning. 3. In terms of affective elements, respondents performed better when they are motivated. 4. In terms of cognitive elements respondents like to learn while using various machine like computers that can make them easily find answers and can make the work easier. 5. In terms of physiological elements, respondents like to eat or drink when they feel nervous or upset.
The following were the recommendation: 1. a thorough guide through seminars with regards on physiological issues must be performed for all students. 2. the college should adopt a program/scheme that will give equal opportunities to all students to access facilities/services (internet, library etc.) and the improvement of the classroom environment in order to meet the requirements and expectations both the school and the students. 3. Instructor must always set cool and friendly atmosphere during classes in order to motivate/encourage the students to participate discussion and/or class activities.
