This study, Beyond the desk: a study on the competencies of office administration graduates for the modern workforce, investigates the alignment between the skills of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration graduates and the demands of contemporary workplaces. With rapid technological advancements, globalization, and evolving business practices, administrative roles now require not only traditional clerical skills but also advanced digital literacy, analytical thinking, interpersonal communication, and project management capabilities. Using a quantitative approach, the study assessed the profile, competencies, and job performance of BSOA graduates from 2020-2024, incorporating perspectives from graduates, employers, and educators. Findings reveal that while graduates excel in foundational skills such as time management, record-keeping, and clerical proficiency, gaps persist in analytical thinking, advanced digital tools, and soft skills necessary for complex, technology-driven environments. Based on these results, the study proposes a competency and performance enhancement program to strengthen both technical and interpersonal skills, thereby improving graduate readiness and employability. This research contributes to curriculum development, policy-making, and workforce planning by highlighting essential competencies for the modern administrative professional and identifying areas for targeted educational interventions.
