Public awareness campaigns play a crucial role in disaster risk reduction and management efforts. Public awareness campaigns can help the residents to enhance and expand their knowledge as they encounter challenges such as lack of knowledge, lack of coordination among groups, and not having enough resources for DRR education. As such, this study aimed to determine profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, religion, highest educational attainment, family monthly income and the types of disaster experienced, the effectiveness and factors influencing the effectiveness of public awareness campaigns on disaster risk reduction and management in Salavacion, Baao, Camarines Sur. It also aims to determine the significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and factors affecting the effectiveness of public awareness campaigns on disaster risk reduction and management. The target respondents of this study were 257 randomly selected and utilized a descriptive-correlational quantitative and stratified sampling technique. The researchers used survey questionnaire through pen and paper as their research instrument. The result showed that most of the respondents were 31-40 years old; male; roman catholic; college undergraduate; have a monthly family income of less than Php 9,520 and commonly experienced earthquake and typhoon. There is no significant relationship between the level of effectiveness of public awareness campaigns on DRRM and profile of the respondents in terms of exposure to hazard, vulnerability of people and properties and preparedness for adverse events A proposed plan was made to Enhance the Effectiveness of Public Awareness Campaigns on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Salvacion, Baao, Camarines sur.
