<subfield code="a">Pharmacology is a prerequisite subject for student nurses, which is taken during the first semester of the second year in the Bachelor of Science in nursing program. This is to train and provide the student nurses with the knowledge, skills, and attitude toward pharmacology, ensuring safe and quality care, providing a proper handling of medication during their clinical practice. To satisfy the purpose of this study, the researcher wanted to determine the level of competency and factors affecting the competency in pharmacology of level III student nurses of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. Specifically, the profile of the respondents, knowledge, skills, attitude, and factors affecting them in terms of teaching strategies, learning behavior, and clinical setting. A quantitative research design was utilized, and a descriptive method using simple random sampling. The results of this study showed the majority of the level III student nurses are between the ages of 20 and 21 years old, female, and in section G, which has the highest number of student nurses. The respondent's level of competency in pharmacology in terms of knowledge and skills is competent, while highly competent for attitude. This suggests further reinforcement on student nurses’ knowledge and skills, specifically on identifying the different drug classifications and accurately calculating drug dosage. Their competency in pharmacology is highly affected with regard to teaching strategies, learning behavior, and clinical setting. This suggests that a comprehensive approach, incorporating effective teaching methods, student-centered learning behaviors, and immersive clinical experiences, is crucial for developing high-level competency in pharmacology among student nurses. Results showed that there is a significant difference in the level of competency in terms of skills when grouped according to sex assigned at birth and section. The findings suggest that male and female student nurses employ distinct approaches to developing their pharmacological skills. Moreover, the learning experiences in each section significantly influence the students' level of competency in pharmacology. In response, the researcher devised a plan to enhance competency in pharmacology among Level III nursing students at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges.</subfield>
