TI - Design if concrete dike as flood control structure upstream of Bacolod bridge, Bato, Camarines Sur / N1 - Undergraduate Theses (BSCE) - Civil Engineering; Includes bibliographical references N2 - Bacolod Bato, Camarines Sur, is a large low-lying plain along the Bicol River, which is mostly affected by flooding when the river overflows. Despite the existing flood control structure, it has not been effective in fully mitigating the impact of flooding in the area. This study aimed to develop a design of a concrete dike as a flood control structure upstream right side of Bacolod Bridge, Bato, Camarines Sur. It is aimed to determine the profile, level of elevation, depth of flood water, and extent of flood. It is limited only to 140 meters from the end of the existing dike connected to Bacolod Bridge and aims to determine the cost estimate of the designed dike. Factors such as elevation, topographic map, hazard map, and contour map, along with the data gathered from government agencies, became the basis for designing the flood control structure. The designed dike with a height of 8 meters, a berm of 0.5 meters at first two layers with a slope of one vertical and one horizontal on the wet side and a slope of two vertical and one horizontal on the dry side complies with the standards of Department of Public Works and Highways and Japan International Cooperation Agency. Before implementation, the researchers recommend reviewing and reinvestigating due to the data may change until the time of its construction, along with the cost estimate to be recomputed to update the list of prices that may vary due to inflation ER -
