"This history of Organic Chemistry continues with the discovery of petroleum and its separation into fractions, according to boiling ranges. Many individuals consider Organic Chemistry to be very complicated and unrelated to daily life. Spectroscopy is the production, measurement, and analysis of electro-magnetic spectra produced as a result of the emission or absorption of energy by various substances. Development of nondestructive spectroscopic method of analysis which can be carried out on small amounts of material has provided the fundamental thrust behind the burgeoning of organic chemistry during the later half of the 20 century. The Organic Practicals have been written taking care of the green route to synthesis in organic chemistry with minimum use of chemicals. The book covers synthesis of organic derivatives of compounds with different functional groups. Methodology has been given in detail for carrying out systematic functional group analysis and estimation of functional group analysis. Though, the study of Organic Chemistry may be complex, it is very important in everyday life. Although many books on the subject are available in the market, yet, there is a dearth. Hence this humble effort. Hopefully it will prove to be beneficial for all concerned readers"-- Back cover.
