Healthcare utilization is crucial for the performance of global healthcare systems as individuals seek it for various reasons such as promoting health, preventing and treating diseases, and learning about their health status. However, access to primary healthcare services remains challenging in the Philippines, particularly in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA). This study aimed to investigate the extent of healthcare utilization among residents in selected GIDA of Iriga City, Philippines. Quantitative research was employed, specifically descriptive-correlational method. The respondents included residents from two barangays, Sta. Isabel (49) and Sta. Maria (228), totaling 277 respondents who were selected using convenience sampling and cluster random sampling. Based on the findings of the study, it was revealed that majority of the residents were female, married, with monthly family income below Php 10,957, mostly 31–40 years old, junior high school graduates, and belonged to nuclear families. In terms of healthcare utilization, the residents of selected GIDA in Iriga City often avail themselves of maternal and child health services, whereas they sometimes utilize family health services, and services on the prevention and control of communicable and noncommunicable diseases. For the factors the residents agree that accessibility, acceptability, affordability, and accommodation affect healthcare utilization, while they fairly agree that availability of healthcare services affects their healthcare utilization. There is no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and the extent of healthcare utilization in terms of family health, maternal and child health, and the prevention and control of communicable and noncommunicable diseases. In conclusion, this study highlights the multifaceted factors influencing healthcare utilization in selected GIDA barangays of Iriga City. Efforts to address barriers related to accessibility, availability, acceptability, affordability, and accommodation are crucial for promoting equitable healthcare access and utilization in underserved areas.
