This study determined the Online Representation of Ferdinand “BBM” Marcos Jr. and Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo through 2022 Philippine Presidential Election Memes using Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis. The study has solely focused on one research question: What non verbal and verbal elements are present in the 2022 Philippine Presidential election memes that represent BBM and Leni? Kress and Van Leeuwen (1996) and Fairclough’s Three-dimensional Model of Critical Discourse Analysis (1989) were utilized to present the non-verbal and verbal elements in the meme. Results indicated that among fifteen (15) memes collected at Reddit, the most prevalent non verbal elements are narrative actional, offer contact, eye level angle, medium close up shot, high modality, top/bottom positioning, framing, and more salient features while verbal elements show that the meme portrays both negative and positive representation of Presidential candidates. The results further support that the presented non verbal elements in the political memes confirm its underlying meanings through the use of verbal elements. Hence, political memes can be an instrument in revealing the representation of politicians among viewers.
