Medical-Surgical Nursing course demands a comprehensive understanding of various disciplines, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and patient management. It is composed of theoretical classroom instruction through discussion and Related Learning Experience. Gaining knowledge and developing abilities in handling patients with medical and surgical conditions is the primary objective of this course. To satisfy the purpose of this study, the researcher wanted to determine the challenges encountered in Medical-Surgical Nursing course by the level III student nurses of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Nabua, Camarines Sur. A quantitative descriptive correlational method was used. Questionnaires were given to level III student nurses of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges using stratified random sampling. The results of this study showed majority of the respondents are 21 years old, female, with a family monthly income between ₱10,957–21,914, and predominantly Roman Catholic. Findings revealed the challenges encountered of student nurses along Physical, Psychological, Emotional were interpreted as Encountered while along Spiritual and Financial were interpreted as Moderately Encountered. This suggests that schools should introduce peer support groups and mentorship programs to help students cope with psychological and emotional issues, particularly for the economically disadvantaged. To provide students with resilience and cope with academic challenges, wellness programs such as stress management workshops and money skills courses should be provided to them upon completion of the course. Student Nurses often utilize coping strategies such as study habits, time management, relaxation techniques, environment and social support, with significant influences from the challenges. Moreover, results showed that there is a significant relationship to Physical, Psychological, and emotional challenges according to Sex, Age, and Monthly family Income. In response, the researcher proposed a plan to assist student nurses to conquer the challenges encountered in Medical-Surgical Nursing course by the level III student nurses of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Nabua, Camarines Sur.
