This study investigates the level of awareness on the ill-effects of smoking and alcohol consumption among students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges - Main Campus. The research aimed to identify students' demographic profiles, determine their level of awareness across various aspects such as physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual, and also to explore the intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors influencing the smoking and alcohol consumption behaviors among the students. The study also examined the relationship between students' profiles and their awareness levels and proposed a plan to enhance the level of awareness. Using a descriptive-correlational method and convenience sampling, the study surveyed 400 students from different colleges. Data analysis employed percentage technique, weighted mean, and Pearson correlation. Majority of respondents were highly aware of the physical effects and moderately aware of the mental, social, emotional, and spiritual effects of smoking and alcohol consumption. Both intrinsic and extrinsic factors moderately influenced their awareness. Significant relationships were found between certain demographic factors (sex and college) and awareness levels in physical, mental, and emotional aspects. The study concludes that specific demographic factors significantly impact the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on smoking and alcohol consumption behaviors. Recommendations include the development of tailored health education programs, gender-specific initiatives, and college-specific campaigns. These strategies should be integrated into the curriculum, promote mental health, enhance social support systems, foster emotional well-being, and ensure continuous monitoring and evaluation to maintain their effectiveness.
