This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting college academic achievement and to identify the best predictors of academic success. Three hundred thirty-four first-year students were purposely selected from students enrolled during the first semester of school year 1989-1990 at Bukidnon State College. The descriptive type of research method was used. School records and documents relating to the subject's performance were examined. Three standardized tests were also used in gathering data about the subjects' mental ability. Study habits and attitudes and occupational preference. Data were gathered from August 1989 to March 1990. Findings revealed that the students' study orientation and high school performance are very important factors for academic success in college.
