Electricity is a fundamental aspect of modern civilization, and it revolutionized the world with its intricacies. It transformed our lifestyle and the progress of globalization. As important as it can be, electricity also poses different problems, hazards and risks. If not handled correctly, one can endanger their lives. The study focuses on evaluating the electrical system of Malawag National High School. All 9 buildings, old and new. To assess if the school’s electrical system and its buildings are up to date with the latest standards proposed in the Philippine Electrical Code 2017 (PEC) and to ensure the compliance towards these standards aiming to enhance safety and efficiency as well as competency in terms of the electrical status of the infrastructures present inside Malawag National High School. Common Concerns such as usage of improper and undersized wires, for lighting and general load, utilization of obsolete protective devices, improper usage of the capacity of protective devices, and non-existing protective devices on some buildings are highlighted in this study. The findings indicate non-compliance towards proper electrical standards which require attention and immediate action. The research recommends changing the wires to its proper rating as well as changing the protective devices that have the proper capacity for a specific load, and to the buildings that have no protective device, install such devices to avoid complications.
