    <subfield code="a">This study was conducted to address the challenges and assess the benefits of digital initiatives that have been experienced by librarians in academic libraries within Camarines Sur. Quantitative specifically correlational-comparative methods were used to identify the difference and relationship between the challenges and benefits of digital initiatives. Digital Transformation and Institutional Theory, and Theory of Change were used to analyze and explain the connectivity between challenges and benefits of digital initiatives. The respondents were 30 academic librarians who are currently employed in universities, colleges, and other local institutions in Camarines Sur. Based on the findings, the majority of the respondents are academic librarians, who range at the age of 20-30 years old with 33.33%. Results also revealed that 14 academic librarians or 46.67% are young professionals who serve in academic libraries below five years. Additionally, it also shows that there is a significant difference between the challenges and benefits experienced by librarians in adopting digital initiatives in academic libraries but there is no significant relationship between the two of them. However, Digital Literacy was found to be the most beneficial. At the same time, Security Concerns and Customers' Needs are the most challenging, for the reasons that limited budgets are allocated for academic libraries and inadequacy of technology skills due to deficiencies in training opportunities for academic librarians. To aid these scarcities and develop the knowledge and skills of academic librarians in fully adopting digital initiatives, the researchers have made an output that is the Five-Year Library Development Plan.</subfield>
