Emergencies are timeless events; no one knows for certain when, where, and how they will occur. More often than not, emergency situations put us at risk of developing injuries, traumas, and in worst case scenarios - death. This study determined the level of competence on basic life support and first aid of the nursing students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. The researchers used questionnaires to elicit information that were distributed to forty two nursing students from CSPC, with twenty-seven respondents from third year and fifteen respondents from second year. The findings revealed that the respondents along with knowledge and skills were moderately competent while very satisfactory along with attitude. The internal and external factors were found to affect the respondents' level of competence on basic life support and first aid.

However, the results revealed moderate competence on that saving a drowning person and proper performance of splinting which is the focus of the proposed plan to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitude of the nursing students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges on basic life support and first aid.
