TI - Competence level on basic life support (BLS) of the faculty of the college of health sciences of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Nabua, Camarines Sur / N1 - Undergraduate Theses (BSN) - Nursing; Includes bibliographical references N2 - Basic Life Support refers to the many forms of treatment given to patients experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or an airway obstruction by emergency workers, medical professionals, public safety officials, and other healthcare practitioners. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Basic Life Support competence (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude) of the faculty of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges' College of Health Sciences (CSPC-CHS) in Nabua, Camarines Sur, because basic understanding and skills are required, which is why BLS training programs are implemented, especially in the healthcare field. To assess their KSA toward Basic Life Support, a 40-question questionnaire was administered. The researchers sought to assess everyone, but only 86% have responded. The CSPC-CHS faculty was found to be highly competent in terms of KSA, as evidenced by a strong understanding of the topics covered in the BLS, showing that the respondents are typically, Very Competent in terms of knowledge. The overall abilities of the respondents are also high, indicating that they truly master the practical BLS components and are frequently Very Competent in terms of skills. Respondents also demonstrate a positive attitude toward BLS performance with a Very Satisfactory attitude. Meanwhile, because of their willingness, the majority of respondents are competent in terms of internal factors. In terms of external factors, the findings indicate that how they were trained influenced how competent they are, and that the environment or 'crowd' has no effect on their performance. The study showed a significant relationship between the profession (be it a nurse, midwife, or physician) and the profile of the respondents. Overall, the study's findings can serve to improve nursing education and, ultimately, the delivery of high-quality healthcare services especially emergency nursing concepts. Further, their presence in the campus may help arrest or reduce mismanaged emergencies ER -
