However, a lot of patients who need transfusions don't readily have access to safe blood. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices on blood donation among nursing students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges to determine the strategies and improvements that can be proposed regarding blood donation to enhance the participation and retention of blood donors. A questionnaire with 30 questions about their Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices towards blood donation was used. There was a total of 1,427 nursing students from level 1 to 4 and only 312 respondents were needed. It was found out that the students' knowledge affects their level of perception regarding blood donation. In terms of attitude, the safety process of blood donation highly affects their attitude towards blood donation. The practices of the respondents towards blood donation revealed that there is still a great scope for the enhancement in the practices of the students. Personal factors play a vital role in the respondent's perception and participation in blood donation. Meanwhile, beneficial factors affects the level of perception of the respondents towards blood donation. There is a significant and positive relationship between sex and the knowledge, attitude, practices, personal and beneficial factors of the respondents. Therefore, only sex has a significant relationship with knowledge among the factors presented. The knowledge, attitude, practices, personal and beneficial factors of the respondents affect their level of perception towards blood donation. Effective and positive engagement from students on a regular basis and interactive blood donation education sessions and donations should be made frequently to foster a positive outlook and to clear any misunderstandings among college students about voluntarily giving blood so that they will be motivated to become regular non-remunerated blood donors. Overall, the findings of this study can contribute to the enhancement of future educational programs for students to increase their knowledge and positive attitudes toward blood donation.1 aRamirez, Russel L.eauthor.1 aSoliven, AlejandraN.eauthor. aSabio, Hayres Boots S.eadviser. aMalabanan, Leni M.echair, panelist. aRivera, Marilyn N.epanelist. aFucio, Modesto P.epanelist.
