Health education plays a pivotal role in health promotion. This study assessed the effectiveness of community health education initiatives in enhancing preventive health behaviors in selected barangays of San Miguel, Catanduanes. A quantitative descriptive correlational research design was employed, using self-made questionnaires to collect data from 346 residents across four barangays. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including weighted means and t-tests to determine relationships between program effectiveness and identified barriers. Findings revealed that the respondents strongly agree that Community Health Education Initiatives play a critical role in enhancing preventive health behaviors in their barangays, particularly the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program. The residents of San Miguel, Catanduanes consistently practice preventive health behaviors, particularly in adopting safe sexual practices. The Community Health Education Initiatives are perceived to be highly effective in fostering preventive health behaviors among the residents of San Miguel, Catanduanes. The results further revealed that the respondents strongly agree that certain barriers hinder the full effectiveness of Community Health Education Initiatives in promoting preventive health behaviors, particularly language barriers that impede effective communication of health messages to all community members. There is a significant and noteworthy relationship between the effectiveness of Community Health Education Initiatives and the barriers to their success in promoting preventive health behaviors. The proposed plan provides a strategic framework to enhance the effectiveness of Community Health Education Initiatives and promote preventive health behaviors in selected barangays of San Miguel, Catanduanes.
