TI - Grimlock : : a multi-method door lock system for network administration systems (NAS) laboratory / N1 - Undergraduate Theses (BSIT) - Information Technology; Includes bibliographical references N2 - Traditional door locking systems often present challenges in efficiency, security, and accountability. The GRIMLOCK: A Multi-Method Door Lock System was developed to enhance laboratory security, streamline access control, and automate user authentication and attendance logging through the integration of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes, and traditional key access methods in the Network Administration Systems (NAS) Laboratory at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Col-leges. The system features an emergency alarm for smoke, gas, fire, and earthquakes, along with a user identification display for real-time monitoring. A mixed-method research approach identified user needs and evaluated system performance through qualitative semi-structured interviews and quantitative black-box testing. The system underwent rigorous testing phases, achieving an overall functionality score of 0.98. Specifically, unit test-ing scored 0.99, integration testing 0.96, functional testing 0.99, and performance testing 0.98, highlighting its reliability. The GRIMLOCK system demonstrated exceptional per-formance in securing laboratory access, logging attendance, and responding to emergency situations, effectively addressing the shortcomings of traditional locking systems. Col-laboration with GRIMLOCK Scribe further enhances the monitoring and management of laboratory activities. While the prototype does not include biometric features or extensive web-based functionalities due to constraints, it offers a practical and scalable solution for educational institutions ER -
