Conversely, forensic linguistic studies in the Philippines are oddly observed, specifically lacking studies on language as legal evidence and linguistic analysis for legal inference. Given this, the study prospected studying the language of Filipino sex offenders which bottom line is rooted from rape which is considered the most recurring type of crime in the country. The study aimed on identifying the common offending behavioral moves among Filipino sex offenders through the lens of Metafunction of language by Halliday and Matthiessen (2014) along with Move analysis of Swales (1990). Three different rape cases were gathered and dissected from the investigative report of Pinoy Crime Stories. Collectively, findings reveal that these moves are building rapport, soliciting assistance, escorting, restraining by physical assault, raping, and evading. In addition, these moves are realized distinct when targeting vulnerable victims. Hence, this study further recommends comparing these moves among targeted nonvulnerable victims while also considering the typology of these Filipino sex offenders. aFajardo, Dan Fereth B.eadviser. aPontillas, Marlons S.echair, panelist. aNachor, Herbert John N.epanelist. aRegalado, Elsa B.epanelist. 2ddcn0cUMhB387uiABELSkUTHm2025 00102ddc4070aCSPCbCSPCcUTHd2025-10-15l0oUTH ABELS B387u 2025p006917UMr2025-10-15 11:04:40t1-1w2025-10-15yUM c30731d30731
