This study explored the lived experiences of caregivers in Virac, Catanduanes, focusing on the emotional burden and coping strategies they employ, the physical and social impact of caregiving, financial strain, and family relationship dynamics. Using a qualitative approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with selected caregivers to gain insights into their struggles, resilience, and support needs. Findings revealed that caregivers experience significant emotional distress due to the unpredictable nature of their loved ones' conditions. While patience and love serve as their primary motivators, many struggles with stress and mental fatigue, relying on personal coping mechanisms to sustain their caregiving roles. Physical exhaustion and health neglect were also prevalent, as caregivers prioritize their family members' needs over their own, often resulting in chronic fatigue and medical neglect. Additionally, social isolation emerged as a major concern, with caregivers feeling disconnected from friends and community due to the time demands of caregiving. The study also highlights financial strain, with the high cost of medication and treatment limiting access to essential healthcare services. The lack of external financial support further exacerbates their burden. Finally, family dynamics play a crucial role in either alleviating or intensifying caregiving challenges, with supportive relationships fostering resilience and strained ones increasing stress. The findings underscore the urgent need for enhanced support systems, including mental health programs, financial aid, respite care, and caregiver education, to improve their well-being and caregiving effectiveness. aLived experiences aCaregivers aVirac, Catanduanes. aRivera, Marilyn N.eadviser. aVillanueva, Paulo Martin B.echair, panelist. aFajardo, Luzviminda A.epanelist. aMalabanan, Leni M.epanelist. 2ddcn0cUMhJ839liMANkMTHm2024 00102ddc4070aCSPCbCSPCcUTHd2025-09-18l0oMTH MAN J839l 2024p006857UMr2025-09-18 13:58:56t1-1w2025-09-18yUM c30540d30540
