This quantitative study evaluated the stress and coping strategies of hemodialysis patients in the first district of Albay. Using a descriptive correlational design, data was collected from 96 hemodialysis patients through a questionnaire. Findings indicated that the majority of patients are males, married, unemployed, with hypertension as a comorbidity, and undergoing hemodialysis twice a week. Most patients are 61 years old and above, have a family monthly income of Php 10,000 and below, and have been undergoing hemodialysis for 2 years. Patients often encounter physical, psychosocial, and financial stressors and often employ problem-focused, emotion-focused, social support-focused, and avoidant strategies in coping with the stressors encountered. The strategies employed by hemodialysis patients in coping with the stressors encountered are greatly influenced by several factors. Results further revealed that there are no statistically significant relationships were found between profile variables and the coping strategies employed. Conversely, there are statistically significant relationships between physical, psychosocial, and financial stressors and the social support coping strategies utilized by hemodialysis patients. Additionally, physical and financial stressors are significantly associated with the emotion-focused coping strategies these patients employed. Furthermore, physical stressors have a statistically significant relationship with the avoidant coping strategies utilized by hemodialysis patients. The proposed plan aims to improve the coping strategies of hemodialysis patients in the first district of Albay, potentially enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life. aCoping strategies. aHemodialysis. aAlbay. aFucio, Modesto P.eadviser. aVillanueva, Paulo Martin B.echair, panelist. aMonge, Abigail F.epanelist. aCabañes, Robert A.epanelist.
