TI - Enhancing student engagement through leadership roles : : strategies for developing future leaders / PY - 2024///. CY - Buhi, Camarines Sur : PB - Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, N1 - Undergraduate Thesis (BSOA)- Office Administration N2 - This study, Enhancing Student Engagement Through Leadership Roles: Strategies for Developing Future Leaders, aimed to analyze the factors influencing student engagement in leadership roles at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), Buhi Campus. The research specifically explored respondents' profiles, enablers, barriers, and the effects of leadership engagement on students' academic performance, personal growth, and career perspectives. The study employed descriptive research design with survey questionnaires as the primary tool for data collection. Respondents comprised 200 students from 1st-year to 3rd-year levels, excluding 4th year students engaged in on-the-job-training. Data were gathered, statistically, treated, and analyzed to derive meaningful insights. Findings revealed that while students recognize the value of leadership roles, factors such as academic workload, lack of confidence, and limited institutional support act as significant barriers. Conversely, mentorship, peer encouragement, and organizational opportunities were identified as key enablers. Engaging in leadership roles positively impacted respondents' time management, communication, and teamwork skills, enhancing their academic performance, personal development, and preparation for future careers. The study concludes that fostering leadership participation requires addressing institutional barriers and implementing targeted support programs. Recommendations include leadership training workshops, peer monitoring initiatives, and policies that balance academic and extracurricular commitments. These strategies aim to cultivate a culture of engagement, empowering students to embrace leadership roles and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive campus community. ER -
