Speaking is the aspect of language learning most susceptible to anxiety especially if one is not used to the language. English is a universal language, however, causes anxiety particularly when speaking in the public. They find difficulty in expressing themselves using the said language because of several factors. This study focuses on determining the English Speaking Anxiety of students. The study utilized a quantitative method. A total of 281 students of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges who were enrolled in the program of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration A.Y. 2023-2024, 1st semester served as the respondents of the study. Weighted Mean was used to determine the perceived English Speaking Anxiety and factors affecting the English speaking anxiety in terms of grammar errors, pronunciation, student personality and group interaction among Bachelor of Science in Office Administration in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. It was found out that grammatical error is the main perceived English speaking anxiety of students and student personality is the main factor causing students' anxiety when speaking English. Personalities can impact students' motivation, the tactics they use to learn a language, classroom management, and language teaching. Moreover, most students' fear of speaking English is related to pronunciation issues. Students' fear may be impeded by their fear of being ridiculed, which often stems from their anxiety about being judged by others and could undermine their self-esteem causing them to feel inadequate. Also, respondents find it challenging to express their feeling, thoughts and opinions while using the language English as they may feel embarrassed when they make mistakes in group discussions and when others are involved. Thus, the respondents recommended to offer workshops that focus on improving public speaking skills and building confidence in English communication. The output of this study is proposed intervention to alleviate anxiety and enhance English speaking skills among students.
