Raft transportation across the river of Peñafrancia is an important part of livelihood for the Riverside community of Barangay Sagrada Familia sitio Peñafrancia. This study aims to create a PVC Raft driven by a propeller as an alternative for the already existing traditional bamboo Raft. The machine is developed as the concern for the difficulty of operating a manual pulling bamboo raft. The objective of this study is to design and develop a propeller driven Raft that is made of PVC and other materials as an alternative form of river transportation and to evaluate the performance of the Raft in terms of travel time, safety and cost effectiveness. This study will also determine the cost analysis of the device. The researchers aim to make this study beneficial to the users.
