The researcher focused on exploring the perceptions of the volunteers, what motivates the volunteers, and what challenges the volunteers encountered through their service at Holy Cross Parish. Data were gathered through semi-structured interview questions with 10 active volunteers aged 50 and above. Thematic analysis revealed that they perceive their roles as "callings," and their service is an expression of their spiritual duty that also seeks to benefit their community. Balancing their personal time and resource limitations are major challenges encountered by the participants. The proposed initiative including spiritual formation, skill development, recognition and appreciation, community- building addresses volunteer motivations and barriers. The parish can cultivate an engaged and effective volunteer sector also, if the parish publicly recognizes and celebrates the efforts of its volunteers, it reinforces the efforts of the volunteers and, possibly, it may attract some new volunteers and/or sustain the current volunteers. The study emphasized the contribution of the church volunteers. The results advocate for the creation of the program not only to support the needs of the volunteers but also for them to be recognized. The proposed program includes spiritual formation, skills development, recognition and appreciation, and community-building activities. Through these programs, it addresses both spiritual and practical needs to foster stronger communities and enhance volunteer engagement and effectiveness. aSalcedo, Ma.
