This study focused on identifying whether the emotional intelligence and conflict management style of the top and middle management leaders in selected LGUs from Rinconada are considered predictors of the self-perceived quality of the relationship of leaders with their subordinates. It also identified how emotional intelligence and conflict management styles influence the top and middle management leaders in their perceived quality of relationship with their subordinates.
This study employed a quantitative approach, providing survey questionnaires to the research respondents of the selected LGUs in Rinconada. This study also used a statistically significant regression model, F (6, 38) = 3.132, p=.014, R2.331. The findings showed that only emotional intelligence significantly predicted the self-perceived quality of relationships, excluding conflict management styles. All the five (5) subscales of the conflict management styles; Yielding, Compromising, Problem-Solving, Avoiding, and Forcing were statistically not significant and did not predict the self-perceived quality of the relationship of leaders with their subordinates. This research hopes to better understand how leaders see themselves as superior to their subordinates.
