TI - Assessment of water supply infrastructure and supply distribution at academic building II, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Nabua Camarines Sur N1 - Undergraduate Thesis (BSME) - Mechanical Engineering; Includes bibliographical references N2 - This study assessed the water supply infrastructure and supply at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Academic Building II. This research assessed the current state of the building water supply system, identifying critical issues and developing sustainable solutions to ensure sufficient, safe, and functional water access for the building's present and future occupants. The study answered the following problems: the present population of the building, the possibility for the population to grow in the future; the status of the building; and the required parameters for the water supply. Surveys explored student and staff water usage concerns, while laboratory analysis tested key water quality parameters. The present population of students and faculty of CTHBM in the first semester of academic year 2023-2024 is 3687, consisting of 3613 enrolled students and 74 faculty members. The future population of CTHBM is predicted by an exponential method that predicts the population of the 2nd semester of 2023-2024 by a 7.68% growth rate. Overall, the water quality testing in the building was generally satisfactory, but further investigation and potential corrective actions are recommended for areas exceeding coliform standards. The survey result revealed that nearly half (49.6%) of respondents reported sometimes experiencing unpleasant odors from the water. Additionally, over half (51.1%) of respondents reported that the water is sometimes clear, sometimes cloudy, and sometimes discolored. These findings suggest that there may be issues with the water quality in Academic Building II. Further investigation is needed to determine the cause of these problems and to develop solutions. Based on the findings, overall water quality was acceptable, but potential issues exist regarding odor, clarity, and coliform presence ER -
