TI - CSPC receptionist robot NAVI : : navigation assistant with visual interface / N1 - Undergraduate Theses (BSECE) - Electronics Engineering; Includes bibliographical references N2 - A Receptionist Robot is a prominent technology that is designed to aid humans in performing various tasks in a professional setting. This research paper aims to develop a receptionist robot that has the capacity to provide directions to users. This study involved the design and fabrication process of the prototype of CSPC Receptionist Robot NAVI: Navigation Assistant with Visual Interface. In this research, the researchers use Python as the main programming language, GTTS (Google Voice Text-to-Speech) for human-machine interaction and NVIDIA ReComputer J1010 as processor. For the additional features such as the face and voice detection, the hardware used were 1080p FHD webcam and a 3.5mm jack audio wired stereo SF-666 microphone condenser. The robot was also evaluated in terms of its features such as face detection, the ability to provide accurate directions and its response-time. A checklist was used in testing NAVI's face detection feature. The ability to answer questions and provide accurate directions are measured in terms of the average percentage of accurate results. In the evaluation of its main features, a questionnaire was used to test its acceptability. The results suggested that the receptionist robot provides an acceptable performance when carrying out tasks. The robot was able to detect and greet a visitor and could accurately answer queries about the directions of the buildings inside the campus. Overall, the receptionist robot was found to be an efficient addition to the campus as we were able to attain the specific objectives. In conclusion, the receptionist robot is a promising technology that has the potential to change the way humans interact in a professional and academic environment. While further research is needed to fully explore its capabilities, this study provides valuable information as to the potential of the receptionist robot to become a valuable tool once deployed ER -
