A web-based student record management system (WBSRMS) is a computer program that captures, stores and manages record creation in an organization. The primary goal of this project is to develop a system that will address the difficulties encountered by using the existing system to efficiently and effectively manage student records. The system is designed to accurately accept processes, generate student reports, grades, and transcripts. The system is also intended to improve user services, provide meaningful, consistent, and timely data and information, and promote efficiency by converting paper processes to electronic form. All phases of the software development cycle are used, and it is worth noting that the system is user-friendly and robust. Interviews and questionnaires were used to collect data. The collected data was sorted and analyzed using microsoft excel software, and it was discovered that the manual system is inefficient, time and space consuming, and doubtful, thus deemed unsuitable for record management. The web-based system was designed using entity relation diagrams and data flow diagrams after gathering the requirements. The developed web-based system allows the electronic capture of student data, storage of this data in an electronic database. For the purpose of making data and information available to students, as well as teachers, staff, and administrators, the student record management system is recommended for use. Instead of keeping data and information in physical system that might make it challenging to retain or retrieve critical information, this approach is meant to assist users to manage student record more efficiently.
