Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSN) - Nursing. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2025. Abstract: Childbearing and Childrearing practices are influenced by various cultural beliefs and traditions, particularly in rural communities. This quantitative research study assessed the knowledge, attitude, and practices on childbearing and childrearing among selected households in Buluang Baao, Camarines Sur. Utilizing a descriptive correlational design. The data were collected from 107 households through questionnaires. The findings highlight the community's commitment to traditional practices while also acknowledging modern healthcare interventions. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics such as percentage technique, weighted mean, spearman's rank correlation and Chi-Square test for independence. The results revealed that the majority of the respondents fell within the age range of 36-45 years old. They were predominantly married and identified as Roman Catholic. Most of them had attained a high school education, earned a monthly family income ranging from P10,001 - P20,000, and have 1-2 children. The findings shows that the Agtang Tabangnon mothers have a comprehensive understanding on childbearing and childrearing. The results further demonstrated that the Agtang Tabangnon mothers are in strong agreement that their knowledge, attitude and practices on childbearing and childbearing are influenced by various factors. These factors include environmental, economics, genetics, and emotional. On the other hand, age, civil status, religious affiliation, highest educational attainment, family monthly income, and the number of children does not have a significant impact on the level of awareness on childbearing and childrearing. Based on the study results, it is recommended that efforts be made to enhance awareness and support for Agtang Tabangnon mothers in Buluang Baao, Camarines Sur, in relation to childbearing and childrearing. This study aimed to provide insights into the cultural factors that influence maternal and child health practices in the Agtang Tabangnon community. Understanding these traditional knowledge, attitudes, and practices can help develop culturally sensitive healthcare programs that balance tradition with modem medical practices. By recognizing the intersection between indigenous knowledge and contemporary healthcare, this research underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between the healthcare providers and local communities. Strengthening health education and awareness while respecting cultural values can contribute to improved maternal and child well-being, ensuring the healthcare interventions are both effective and culturally appropriate.
