Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSCE) - Civil Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2025. Abstract: This study aimed to improve the water supply system in Antipolo, Buhi, Camarines Sur, wherein the barangay has sufficient potable water from spring. Notably, this determined the present condition of the existing water supply system in Antipolo Buhi in terms of water source (spring source), existing spring intake box, discharge, the water demand based on the selected household, reservoir, main transmission pipeline, and distribution pipeline, the properties of water in terms of (a). Physical Properties, (b). Chemical Characteristics, and (c). Microbiological Content. Both descriptive and developmental methods were utilized in this study. The drinking water demand – based on the drinking water requirement from NWRB with 70 liters of water per person per day for the selected household is 235,200 liters per day, which is less than the actual capacity of the water source is 369,360 liters per day. This means that the water source meets the demand of the selected households. In addition, regarding water quality, the samples passed all the standards for physical and chemical tests but failed to meet the microbiological standards. The study also determined the topography and elevation of the site to know the location of the proposed elevated water tank. The design of the water supply system consists of an elevated water tank with a capacity of 100 cubic meters, an improvement of the existing intake box, and the pipelines for distribution. Then, the computed cost for constructing the water supply system is ₱ 9,252,812.98. Based on the results the researchers conclude that the proposed water supply system is efficient to satisfy the needs of the selected households. The researchers recommend constructing a perimeter wall around the water source to protect it from potential contaminants and prevent unauthorized individuals from polluting the area.
