The study presents the design of a two-story green multipurpose evacuation center located at Libon, Albay. The building demonstrates sustainability and versatility to enhance the disaster resilience of the municipality. The objective is to develop a design that creates a flexible and sustainable facility that can serve as a temporary shelter during emergencies while accommodating various community needs in normal circumstances. The design integrates green standards to minimize the environmental impact and promote sustainable development in the construction industry. Solar panel systems, rainwater harvesting systems, passive lighting, and ventilation systems are integrated into the output of this study. Design software such as STAAD Pro Connect, RCDC, AutoCAD, and SketchUp is used in designing the building to ensure the safety, serviceability, durability, and functionality of the building. In addition, various codes and laws in the Philippines are also applied to the building design. The design is a 40-meter by 25-meter building with an elevation of 13.3 meters from the finish grade line. It is mainly composed of multipurpose halls and rooms that are important in evacuation centers. On the green building criteria from BERDE, it has an average score of 72.73, with recognition of exemplary practice. The estimated cost of the building is ₱50,314,729.72. By integrating sustainability, safety, serviceability, durability, and functionality, the two-storey green multipurpose evacuation center aims to serve as a resilient hub for the community in times of disaster and as a vibrant community space during normal circumstances.
