Summary: "The process of developing a new venture involves testing the commercialization of a business idea and choosing the best options for developing the business. At present there are a number of entrepreneurship theories for the development of entrepreneurship. So, in this section we have tried to identify the variables used in the existing models, to find out the merits and demerits of present theories. We have also considered all these factors while we have tried to provide a new model. All the existing entrepreneurship theories are divided here into two major categories-psychological theories and sociological & anthropological theories. Human creativity and productive entrepreneurship are needed to combine these inputs in profitable ways, and hence an institutional environment that encourages free entrepreneurship becomes the ultimate determinant of economic growth. Founder overconfidence affects founder decisions about required initial resource endowments--the initial stocks of resources that stakeholders invest in founding ventures that is present, say, after any given early round of capital raisings. Greater initial resource endowments enable founders to invest in the human, technical, organizational, social, and other resources that buffer their ventures from failure. Venture capital (VC) is a form of private equity financing that is provided by venture capital firms or funds to startups, early-stage, and emerging companies that have been deemed to have high growth potential or which have demonstrated high growth (in terms of number of employees, annual revenue, scale of operations, etc). Venture capital firms or funds invest in these early-stage companies in exchange for equity, or an ownership stake. Venture capitalists take on the risk of financing risky start-ups in the hopes that some of the firms they support will become successful. The book presents the substantial body of knowledge about the entrepreneurial process in a pragmatic way"-- Back cover.
