Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSN) - Nursing. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2023. Abstract: The study determined the hospital preferences of the residents of San Francisco, Iriga City in seeking health care services. Also, it establishes the factors that influence the respondent’s hospital preferences. The study used a descriptive correlational method to describe the findings through a self-made checklist questionnaire which was administered to a sample population of 250 respondents who are the heads of the families from zones 4 and 6 of San Francisco Iriga, City. Findings revealed that most of the respondents were 36 years old and above, female. married, with a monthly family income below 11,000.00, and most of them completed a high school education. Hospital preferences of the respondents were based on three aspects such as physical structure, services, and personnel. The respondents preferred private hospital’s physical structure while they prefer the government hospital’ services. However, the respondents preferred both private and government hospital’s personnel respectively. Most of the respondents preferred the physical structure of the private hospitals because of its accessibility, ventilation and lighting, infrastructure, and safety and comfort. Moreover, health programs and services, availability of drugs and supplies as well as its affordability were the characteristics that the respondents preferred the most in government hospital. The result further shows that the residents strongly agreed that several factors have influenced their hospital preferences in seeking healthcare services. Some are as follows: The cost of services, Efficiency and Availability of the Health Care providers, Quality of health care services provided, Healthcare workers' attributes like attitude and the way they render, healthcare services, Health care services offered, Hospital location and environment, The type of health care needs, Importance of continuity of care, Availability of equipment or modern equipment, State-of-the-Art healthcare facility. Furthermore, age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and family monthly income do not have a significant impact on the hospital preference among the residents of San Francisco, Iriga City.
