Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSEE) - Electrical Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2024. Abstract: Driven by the increasing energy demand of rural communities and the potential of renewable energy technologies in the Philippines, this study highlights the two-fold advantage of canal-top solar power systems: generation of clean electricity and minimized water evaporation from irrigation canals. This study aims t o design a solar power system that can provide the current energy demand and consumption of the community; determine the parameters of the solar power system in terms of current, power, and voltage drop; and to evaluate the technical feasibility of insta ling solar power systems, considering factors such as site location, solar potential, and system design requirements. This has also its primary objective to study the feasibility of a canal-top solar power system at national irrigation canal areas.
