The transportation system is pivotal in many aspects of society, such as safety, economy, and urbanization. Hence, the unpaved road situated from Centro Street to San Isidro, Buluang, Baao, Camarines Sur was subjected to the study that aimed to evaluate its present condition in terms of road surface, base and subbase, and road drainage, determined the design parameters involving cross-section, profile, grading, and plasticity (e.g., Liquid Limit, Plastic limit, California Bearing Ratio); determined its soil classification; design and cost estimate of the project. The study utilized a descriptive and developmental research design as a systematic approach in the preliminary investigation, geotechnical investigation, and development of the pavement design. Thus, the results show that the general subgrade performance is poor according to the CBR test and its soil classification, which is within A-4, found to be fine-grained soils. The PCCP is designed to be 200 mm thick with a 200 mm thick base and subbase course and incorporates a side ditch to serve as road drainage. The estimated direct cost of the project is PHP 6,520,077.19. Moreover, the researchers recommend obtaining more than 4 sample specimens to ensure accurate and reliable results, conducting of traffic count to determine the actual traffic demand, providing additional road maintenance elements for road lifespan longevity, and updating the cost estimate on the year of implementation. Overall, this research can provide references and insights for researchers and engineers in the field of pavement engineering.
