Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSTM) - Tourism Management. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2024. Abstract: The concept of resiliency in the tourism industry has become increasingly important in recent years, and it has become a stepping stone to understanding how communities can more effectively adapt to change. This research examines the factors contributing to the resilience of resorts in Buhi, Camarines Sur, to natural and man-made disruptions. This descriptive study utilized a survey research approach with hard copy questionnaires and included all 58 respondents from the seven resorts, and the Percentage Technique and Weighted Mean were used as statistical tools. The outcome of this study will benefit the owner of the resort, locals, tourists, students, future researchers, and researchers. This research explored the potential impact of disruptions on resorts, revealing that improved policies do not guarantee immunity from the effects of disruptions. It examines its resiliency, aiming to provide valuable insights into the preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery mechanisms currently in use, as well as the unique challenges faced by these establishments. The research findings highlight that resiliency in tourism is significantly affected by sudden natural or man-made disruptions; despite effective policies, resorts in Buhi may still face challenges. The conclusion from the study was that the resorts in Buhi, Camarines Sur, have adapted to the trends despite the disruptions, but some practices show room for improvement. These are drawn from the informal interview, data gathering results, and researcher’s observation. Recommendations include conducting regular risk assessments, investing in resilient infrastructure, and continuously improving disaster policies. Engaging local communities and ensuring thorough preparedness measures are also emphasized to enhance the overall resilience of the resorts. Overall, this research contributes to the local government of Buhi, Camarines Sur, and future researchers.
