Undergraduate Thesis (BSME) - Mechanical Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2024.
Includes bibliographical references.
This inquiry covered the idea and creation of a 5-stud car rim removal tool that is aimed at speeding up and streamlining the process of giving up a light vehicle tire. The machine uses a planetary gear configuration which allows it to extract five lug nuts at a time hence substantially reducing the physical, as well as the temporal requirement typically required by traditional approaches. A combination of careful material selection, engineering design and the performance testing showed that the prototype performed with sufficient flexibility in its operational functionality, and took less time than 60% in removing tires. In this regard, the innovation is a viable, effective solution to the problems of mechanics and automotive drivers that are relevant especially in the Philippines where there are urgent issues of maintenance and roadside assistance in consideration of the increasing traffic condition and aspiring vehicle ownership.
