Summary: "Information Technology is a vocational skill subject which lays emphasis on computer and its application in practical life. This book is an effort to introduce how computer has become an integral part of today's life. This book also encourages the use of opensource software like LibreOffice and OpenOffice with various kinds of skills that are required for the complete development of a child. This course is a planned sequence of instructions consisting of units meant for developing employability and vocational competencies of students for Class X opting for vocational subject along with general education subjects. The course is divided into two parts, viz., Part A and Part B. The brief contents of the syllabus are given below: Part A consists of Employability Skills that deal with the five types of skills, viz., Communication skills, Self-management skills, ICT skills, Entrepreneur skills and Green skill. These skills are given in the form of separate units and each of these skills is discussed in detail in each respective unit. Part B consists of advanced features of LibreOffice suite and web application &security features. This part has four units. The first and the second units in this part emphasise the importance of Digital Documentation, Electronic Spreadsheet, and their advanced concepts like templates, table of contents in writer and scenarios, macros, goal seek in calc.
